Restaurant General Manager

Department: Onix Hospitality - Administrative
Location: West Chester, PA

Responsibilities and Duties

The General Manager oversees restaurant operations, management team and staff, as well as the execution of all policies, procedures, programs and systems while maintaining a fun and upbeat team atmosphere. The General Manager is a confident decision maker who is highly practiced in employee management and business/financial management, and is a true motivator who possesses excellent communication skills. The General Manager supports the business by creating and maintaining an excellent environment where, as a team, we strive to exceed expectations and provide the best in hospitality and service for all guests.

  • Maintain fast, accurate service, positive guest relations, and ensure products are consistent with quality standards
  • Anticipate and identify problems; initiate appropriate corrective actions
  • Train, coach, and manage team members in a manner that maximizes retention; collaborate with your management team to interview and select candidates for hire
  • Work to meet sales goals over the prior year
  • Manage food, labor, material costs, and other controllable expenses
  • Follow company systems and processes for the control of cash, property, product, and equipment
  • Oversee and maintain safe working conditions for all team members
  • Monitor and reinforce food safety procedures, ensuring these are executed according to policy and health/sanitation regulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or Business Management, a related field, or equivalent restaurant/operations experience
  • Previous management/supervisory and mentor experience required
  • Willing to assume around-the-clock responsibility for restaurant and operations
  • Ability to hold oneself accountable and achieve goals with limited direct supervision
  • High level of confidence and strong decision maker
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Guest-friendly demeanor; exhibit a sense of urgency; neat, clean, professional appearance
  • Capability to use a POS system and troubleshoot issues as well as basic computer programs and the internet
