Position Description
The Transport Aide is responsible for providing support and excellent customer service to residents while they are rehabilitating under the supervision of licensed staff. In this position, you will work in conjunction with the Dialysis staff and Nursing to provide the care needed for residents.
Duties and Responsibilities
Transfer dialysis patients from their bed to the chair and then transport the patient to and from dialysis den. When patients are done, return the chair to the dialysis den
Make sure the dialysis patients have appropriate clothing and have snacks
Remove soiled linen and trash from baskets when full and move to soiled linen room
Provide nail care to assigned residents
Maintain supply stock in patient rooms and replace when required (tissues, gloves, etc.)
Greet new admissions and ensure that the new admission's room is clean and ready
Assist in transporting residents to and from appointments, activity and social programs, and dining room
Answer call bells promptly and assure call bell is left with the patient when leaving the room
Prepare patients for meals and assist with meal set up (cut up food, etc) as needed
Serve meals in dining room for lunch and dinner and pass and collect food trays from resident rooms as well as collect meal tickets as able
Qualifications
High School Diploma
Certified Nursing Assistant is preferred
Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred
Experience working with geriatrics is preferred
Good customer service skills are required
