Prep Staff

Department: Onix Hospitality - Food Service
Location: West Chester, PA

West Chester Hotel, LLC, operated by Onix Hospitality and Big Fish Restaurant Group, is hiring for the all new West Chester Seafood Kitchen!

Responsibilities and Duties

The Prep Staff is responsible for assisting the kitchen staff with the following:

  • Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.
  • Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food, etc.
  • Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines

Qualifications

  • Basic culinary coursework or equivalent experience desired
  • Previous prep or line cook experience preferred
  • Neat, clean, and professional appearance
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds to waist level
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends
