Substance Abuse Clinical Supervisor

Location: New Castle, DE

ARS Treatment Centers specialize in outpatient treatment for those suffering from opioid use disorder. Our clinic is one of ten locations in the mid-Atlantic region that provides specialized outpatient medication-assisted treatment.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 5a-1:30p

Position Description:

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for ensuring clinical and administrative services are provided for patients and their families and provide overall supervision to all counselors, counselor assistants and interns. The Clinical Supervisor facilitates Clinical Meetings and participates in an interdisciplinary team. The Clinical Supervisor will adhere to the vision and mission of the Company.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides new hire orientation for Counselors. Prepares annual training plans for each Counselor. Conducts quarterly in-house training for clinical staff.
  • Supervises Counselors to assure timely completion of work and adherence to program policies and procedures.
  • Provides weekly, biweekly or monthly clinical supervision through documentation of assessment of professional competencies, clinical skills and recommendations through weekly meetings and direct and periodic observation. Review all documentation developed by Counselor II (Counselor Intern / Counselor Assistant) for accuracy and clinical appropriateness.
  • Assigns emergency on call rotation and assures successful completion. Completes monthly schedules for groups, admissions, weekend rotation and holidays.
  • Completes annual employee reviews for Counselors and Counselor II (Counselor Intern / Counselor Assistant). Completes quarterly reports for supervision, training, compliance, discharges and admissions.
  • Assigns new patients to Counselor caseloads and monitors ratio for state compliance. Addresses Counselor change requests, complaints and participates in fair hearings.

Qualifications:

  • Must have one of the following:
    • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, or nursing or a related field of study and full certification as a certified alcohol and drug Counselor (CADC) or certified co-occurring disorder professional (CCDP) in the state of Delaware or by a nationally recognized organization in addictions counseling
    • A Bachelor’s Degree from a accredited college or university with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing or a related field of study and five (5) years of documented clinical experience in the substance abuse treatment field
